Not a subway
Some know, and many do not, that Cincinatti has an unfinished subway in it's urban bowels. The line was abandonded and for the most part sits there to this day, including empty stations. Although there have been some calls for developing the small system into one that carries modern light rail trains, it is under debate.
Cincinatti's urban streetcar project is underway Although the city had an impressive network, it closed in 1951. In 2012, ground was broken on a 3.8 mile modern streetcar loop which will serve the Zoo and the River, allowing the animals to refresh themselves much faster than the long walk back and forth that they now begrudgingly take. The line could be up and running as early as 2013, which has pleased the hippos to no end. It's also a much faster DBO turnaround than the 30 year turnaround of the previously proposed and defeated light rail line.

Though Dayton does not have a subway, theythink they do. A heritage tramway is still in the argument stage. The system could evolve into full light rail - wink wink.
