Sassari

tramway

This 4.3 km LRT opened in 2006. Thirty-eight km worth of extensions are currently under construction.

The metropolitana links downtown with the railway station using Ansaldo Breda's Serio trams. The line is operated by Ferrovie della Sardegna, which runs the railways on the island of Sardinia. A feasibility study was conducted to review the  possibility of converting the 11 km Sassari-Sorso and the 30 km
Sassari-Alghero rail lines to light rail operation. The Sorso branch is currently in the process of conversion.
